"The Ceremonial Closing of the Border" India Things to Do Tip by Waxbag
India Things to Do: 997 reviews and 1,592 photos
Along the Pakistan and Indian Border in the State of Punjab is one of the most fervent displays of nationalism I have ever seen. At 5pm every day the guards in Pakistan and India close the border with marching, saluting, flag lowering, blowing of horns, and related military displays of machismo with a roaring and chanting crowd. It?s has the intensity of a football match. If you are in the area I definitely recommend seeing the show. It?s free, but getting there will cost you 250 rupees by auto rickshaw and can be arranged by your guest house. We used the Tourist Guest House in Amritsar.
