"Just walk around its a little different." Leidseplein Tip by LakeFever

Anyone who has been to Amsterdam will tell you it is walking city...its easy to get kind of lost but never really lost....on foot youre never to far from getting back....The last couple times in Amsterdam have focused around Leidershplein......it is a little more local than tourist...there is certinaly a dutch feel to the area...the bars seem to be more down to earth and slower paced...restaurants are in abundance and there is something going on every night. Trams run right through the square that can take you to the Dam in 7 minutes...to the train station in 12....vondel park is quite close and a good side trip, check it out on a nice day...keep walking through and youll eventualy find a big beer garden in the middle.
Boom Chicago is also right the as well..(see tip)..and of course Rookies is just around the bend.......if your going back to Amsterdam for the second time and stayed more red light the first....then check this area out for a change of scene.
