A delightful and fairly easy circular route from Watsons Bay Ferry - approx 4kms.
Turn left off the ferry and walk along the shoreline to the end and take a left and a fairly quick right. Follow the signs for Camp Cove Bay through the narrow lanes of this exclusive Sydney suburb. Camp Cove Bay is about 10 minutes from the ferry and is a tiny, protected little bay with a small public beach 9although you get the feeling that the owners of the homes that back on to it would prefer it to be less public!). Great views of the city to be had from here - especially at the little boat house at the far end of the beach. Pass the boat house along a narrow path which quickly leads to 19th fortifications (and an old canon still in situ) and on to a wooden path/steps that lead to Lady Bay and Sydney's officially designated nudist beach! You can linger a while here :) or head on to South Head itself and Hornby Lighthouse. Fantastic views to be had, including North Head, the corresponding northerly opening to Sydney Harbour. The lighthouse keeper's home has been renovated and stands proudly on the point.
From the lighthouse simply retrace your steps.
