The Mozart family lived here from 1773-1787 (after moving from their house on Getreidegasse). You can go on a self guided tour through this building, which Mozart lived in for a time. You are given a headset with your preferred language, and walk through the rooms. There are numbers on the walls next to certain objects, which you just put into your headset to hear the relevant information.

A lot of the objects on display are preserved and kept behind glass. The large rooms within this house are incredible, especially considering the house that the Mozart's used to live in (in comparison to this one). The music room is particularly grand.

I have to say that I did enjoy Mozart's Birthplace, more than the Residence. Although there is a very nice gift shop here where you can buy Mozart 'inspired' gifts. I ended up buying 'Pimperl' - a soft toy of Mozart's dog - very cute and cuddly!

You can buy a joint ticket for Mozart's Residence and Mozart's Birthplace if you want to save yourself a few euros.
