This is something that I keep meaning to do, but everytime I go to London I always seem to find other ways of spending my time and money. Therefore, this tip will mainly be for informational purposes, and hopefully one day soon I'll be able to comment on my personal experiences of the London Eye.
The London Eye is a 135m tall, enabling passengers to see as far as 25 miles on a clear day. Each capsule holds approximately 25 people and a journey lasts about 30 mins.
Ticket's cost £12.50 per adult, £6.50 per child (2005 prices) Opening times are from 9:30am - 8pm, later during the summer months. Everytime I have walked passed there have been long queues of people waiting to board, so be sure to allow plenty of time.
Advanced bookings (with 10% discount) can be made on the website below, where you will also find more detailed information about prices, opening times, offers etc.
Address: South Bank, opposite Big Ben
Directions: Approx 5 mins walk from Waterloo Tube (follow signs for South Bank) and Westminster Tube (follow signs for Westminster Pier). If in doubt look for a big wheel!
