Favorite thing: The day tour is a little bit hectic for me. It seems that everybody is in a haste to get over with every place toured. There are some really interesting places left out that are not included in the day tour itinerary which you find later << if you stay overnight and join the night and early morning tours. These include the sunset viewing at Battery Grubbs, tour at the commissary and hospital ruins; and best of all, the night tour at the Malinta Tunnel >> with flashlights on hand, we toured the minor tunnels that branched perpendicular from the Main Tunnel. Not included on day tours, the minor tunnels were once hospitals, depot, command headquarters and escape routes.
Staying overnight also means early morning splash at the beach and/or at the hotel swimming pool. Relaxing, eh!
Fondest memory: The real feel of life in Corregidor during the war can be best experienced when touring the Malinta Tunnel at night and coming to know the gruesome events that happened in this same place during the height of the war. >> Stucked and helpless while the wounded ones are slowly dying.
Makes you say >> "From now on, there should be no more war. Peace!!!"
