Arc de Triomphe, Paris: 402 reviews and 711 photos
The Arc de Triomphe stands on the Place de l'Etoile, which was created around 1770. Napoléon I Bonaparte ordered to build the Triumph Arch in 1806 after the Austerlitz campaign. The planners were Jean-Arnaud Raymond and Jean-François Chalgrin. The construction started at Napoleon's birthday, on 15th August 1806.
There is a museum inside the arch about the history of the monument (visit: 10-17.30; close on Mondays and holidays). One can enjoy a wonderful panorama from the terrace.
The first photo of this tip was taken in 2000, the others in 2003.
