Anne feeding Red-billed Streamertail at Rocklands
by no1birdlady

Rocklands Feeding Station is near Montego Bay in Anchovy. Here you may hand feed the endemic Red-billed Streamertail from a small tube feeder holding sugar water. Rocklands manager is Fritz Beckford who also gives tours of the trails on the property looking for birds. He sat in a chair and fed small birds called Yellow-faced Grassquits seeds from his hands. It has taken years to get the birds to trust people and to come in and feed like this. We took a tour on some of the trails and saw a lot of interesting birds such as the Jamaican Eleania, Jamacian Tody, and Jamaican Vireo. Including the streamertail, these were 4 of the 25 species of endemic birds we wanted to see on this beautiful island.

Directions: South of Montego Bay at Anchovy.
