  Rabat's Kasbah
by barryg23

Rabat was a strange choice as Morocco's capital during the French occupation, and it has remained the capital since independence though it's not the largest city in Morocco, nor does it have as colourful a history as Fes, Meknes of Marrakech.

For first time visitors to Morocco, Rabat is the perfect place to start. Visitors are, in general, not bothered to the same extent as in Fes, Marrakech or Tangier and there is much to see in here, such as the Tour Hassan and the excellent Kasbah in the north of the city overlooking the sea and the Sale estuary.
