This suspension bridge is a Marvelous Beauty.

Built sometime in the late '70s, Magapit Suspension Bridge is one of the 2 bridges that span the mighty Cagayan River in the province of Cagayan and is the most important bridge on this side of the country. It is the only bridge that connects the east and west coastal districts of the northern strip of Cagayan. Passing through this bridge is also the most convenient and shortest way to reach the Ilocos Region coming from Cagayan Valley via the scenic Patapat Road.

The river generally gets wider reaching its mouth, making it problematic to put up conventional legged bridges across it due to the loose soil on the river bed. Many attempts have been made but were not successful, thus the suspension bridge as the solution. To erect the least expensive suspension bridge, engineers looked for the narrowest portion of the river which at the same time should have good foundations on the banks.
