  • A fine monument - Paris

Yet another unmissable monument in Paris - The world famous Arc de triomphe. Theres actually another arc - in North Korea (plus loads of copies elsewhere).
It was a great feeling when my coach from the airport turned a corner and the arc came into view! I couldnt stop myself from saying 'wow'!! You can enter the arc (for a fee - about 8 Euro as i remember). You climb the stairs, eventually getting to a mini-museum and gift shop inside. You can then carry on to the top and enjoy the fantastic view of paris (and look right down the famous Champs Elysees). At the bottom of the Arc is the 'tomb of the unknown soldier' - and the everlasting flame.
Oh yeah one tip - to get to the actual arc you go through a kind of mini - underground subway (20 second walk through) do not - i repeat DO NOT attempt to cross the road above ground to it!!!!
