I have stayed at the Nana City Inn twice. One time was when I didn't know any better, the second time was when I couldn't find another hotel anywhere else.

The rooms are tired and dirty and I saw the odd cockroach here and there. On my most recent stay, I was not able to find a hotel anywhere else in the Sukhumvit area and I knew that this hotel would probably have a few rooms free (because of the nasty aspects outlined above). Voila! One room left and so I checked in.

Unique Qualities: This hotel is located in soi 4, which is a fairly intense red-light district, but the hotel itself is rather tame. It costs 800 baht per night and unlike other hotels on soi 4, it seems to attract mostly families and budget travellers. There is a 24 hour reception and the staff are very helpful - one of them even lent me her mobile phone so I could call my wife! Can't fault that....

There is no pool, no bar and no restaurant, all fairly basic.

Address: Sukhumvit Soi 4
Price Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: Go into soi 4 and it's about 200 meteres down the soi on the left.

Price: US$20-40
