"The famous "forbidden city"" Forbidden City - The Palace Museum Tip by indigo_sf

The famous "forbidden city" is one of the legendaries cities of the world. Building started on 1417 by Zhu Di emperror, who wanted to transfer the empire capital city to a more safe place, mainly because of moggolians invasions cursing the whole country. Don't forget that the also famous Great Wall was built for exactly the same reason. It is said that over one million of people including 100.000 artists (painters, sculptors etc) forced to long-last heavy duty during Forbidden city construction.

Note that you need a whole day (At least) to navigate through the whole city.
