Bethesda used to be a pound or bath, famous because Jesus healed a lame man in this place. A church was built on this location in the 5th century, but it was destroyed by the crazy Hakim in the year 1010. The crusaders built a new church in the 12th century; St Anne's Church. It is this church that can be visited today. I think it is one of the nicest churches in Jerusalem; it is famous for its acoustics.
It is an enjoyable, quiet place in the muslim quarter. There is a small garden, St Anne's Church, and some very interesting archaeological site which offers lots of insight into the history of the place.
Admission is 7 NIS.

Address: Via Dolorosa
