"One of the lovlieset squares in Europe" Prešeren Square Tip by rexvaughan

I don't usually do tips on places just to sit and enjoy the view, but we agreed that this is indeed one of the most charming squares we have ever seen. On one side is the Francescan Church of the Annunciation which is a lovely pink with white trim and a nice gilded statue of (guess who) on top. Then there is the statue of the national hero, the poet France Preseren, the Triple Bridge, the Hauptmann House which is the only building to survive an 1895 earthquake, the lovely Julia (Preseren's purported love whose head is in an alcove and looking toward Preseren and a nice restaurant with outdoor seating right on the square. The restaurant is Kavarna Planet Plocnik and hosted our gathering of friends from 5 countries for a fabulous afternoon and evening. The square even has pretty decent public restrooms just down one flight on either side of the Triple Bridge.
