  Church of the Immaculte Conception

This church is located next to the Liberty Bell of the West, and dates back to 1623, one of the oldest functioning churches in the region. Originally, it was founded by Marquette, and still stands to this day. I don't think this is the original architecture. By my untrained eye, I would say the building itself dates back to maybe 1750.

Directions: The church is on the western shore of the Mississippi, (status as Illinois territory predates a change in the river's course that obliterated the original town). To get there, go to St. Mary's in Missouri and follow the signs because there isn't a bridge.
