A great little bit of road - R330

Not really off the beaten path, in the sense that this tip concerns a tarmaced road.

The R330 road runs south from Westport until it joins the main N84 Castlebar-Galway road at Partry.

I have always enjoyed this stretch of road, as with little traffic, a few scattered villages, gently sweeping bends, and terrific scenery it is an open-top driving heaven.

I've enjoyed it immensly in the MG, and even in the battered old rust-bucket I sometimes drive it really makes you feel alive and life is worth living.
