"American architectural and rail history" La Posada Hotel Tip by Vigg

La Posada Hotel, Winslow: 1,642 reviews and 5 photos

Feels like a castle with its stone exterior, concrete mosaic floor tile, HUGE fireplace. The railway runs through every night. Stay court yard side. Winslow, AZ might be home to a famous Eagles song, but there ain't much else in town. Most remarkable about this inn is that on every occasion I stayed (1/month for 2 years), I always met the most interesting people traveling through by railway.

Unique Qualities: Located railside and on Route 66. Constructed in the 1930s, and was Paul Harvey operated. It's been updated and the current owners maintained the eccentricity of the inn's architect, Mary Coulter.
