As beautiful as Connecticut is, the major highways can frankly be a pain to drive on. Congestion, construction and too many trucks mean that your trip through Connecticut can be a chore. This is especially true on I-95, the major route between New York City and Boston.
My suggestion: get off the big highways as much as possible, and get on some of the smaller roads. Some are still congested, but you'll see the real Connecticut.
