Beverley is situated in the Avon Valley, is one of West Australia?s oldest town?s right in the heart of the farming district. The Aeronautical Museum traces the history of aviation in WA and features the first privately built biplane in the State which was flown in 1930. The Avondale Discovery Farm is about 6 kms west of town and entrance to the farm is free. The farm which opened in 1979 by Prince Charles, is a unique living museum and also a modern working farm. There are lots of interesting things you can do at Avondale. There is a children?s adventure playground, an animal nursery and picnic area with bbq?s. The farm has also been used as a research station since 1924.

Address: Around 130km south-east of Perth
