The Deir el-Bahari is the site of the northernmost temples in the Valley, particularly those of Mentuhotep, Tutmosis III and Hatshepsut.

The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut is the most impressive of all. It is difficult to describe it and still give it justice. The view of the temple against the cliffs, overshadowed by the Peak of the Thebes, with the deep blue sky above is just breathtaking. It is one of the most dramatic scenes in Egypt. Ramps lead from terrace to terrace, and statues of the queen abound.
