"Ostankino TV Tower" Ostankino TV Tower Tip by Martin_H

Ostankino TV Tower, Moscow: 11 reviews and 18 photos

Built between 1963 and 1967 it was the tallest freestanding structure in the world until the CN Tower was built. Rebuilding after a fire in the upper levels in 2000 is now complete unfortunately the observation deck and restaurant are not yet open to the public.
It is visible from most of the northern districts of Moscow and gives a very good navigation point.

Address: ul. Koroleva, metro: VDNKh
Directions: You could walk from VDNKh metro stop but it is easier by trolleybus or tram. As an interesting alternative you can take the newly opened monorail to TV Centre stop (50 roubles per trip).
