Day 1 : Schottenring and Alsergrund

The Liechtenstein Gartenpalace is a magnificent summer palace, built for the Liechtenstein family by Domenico Martinelli in a Rococo style, and it was completed in 1704.

Since 1979, the state is renting this palace in order to use it as a museum for Modern Art.

When I visited Vienna there was a temporary exposition in the palace: Barock Lebt – Baroque Lives. With the most beautiful sculptures of sculpture Giovanni Guilliani (1664 – 1744). Exposition from 13 Mars till 2 October.

Museum open daily except on Tuesday 9am till 8 pm (cashier closes at 7.30 pm)

Behind the Palace there was a beautiful garden (open daily from 7.15 till 8.30 pm)

Entry fees:
- special exhibitions : 4 euro
- permanent exhibition : 10 euro (single ticket)
- guided tours : 4 euro
- audio tour : 4 euro
