Karl Johans gate is the main street of Oslo and it connects from East to West the town: from the Central Station to the Royal Palace. One the sides of the street there are some interesting buildings: the university, the Parlament, the Domkirke and many others nice buildings with restaurants and shops.
Karl Johans gate was built by the Swedish King Karl XIV Bernadotte (1815-1844) to give a modern shape to Christiania.
