Blackstone Street, near Faneuil Hall and Haymarket Station, has long been home to Boston's largest open-air produce market. It is always interesting to swing through here during the day on Friday and Saturday to see the locals buying groceries. We always pick up some fruit or the sellers will give us some free samples of loose grapes or other items. Want fish? This market is full of fresh seafood of all kinds. After the market closes, the streets are slimy and the area tends to smell of rotten fish.
