When you running around shopping to your heart's content, sooner or later you're going to need a coffee, juice, snack or full lunch to "keep moving" around the huge shopping malls... this is where I recommend you steer towards the nearest Cafe Havana.
Surely, there are restaurants in Dubai that surely serve much better food, but for the weary shopper & people watcher, the food is tasty and well priced.

(Now don't be misled by the name: there's nothing really Cuban about the place; the food is international & plentiful.)
The cafe has various outlets in the city, with the largest one being on Level 2 of Deira City Centre. It has seating for at least 150 people, an informal and relaxed feel: wicker chairs and tables, lots of greenery in ceramic pots, wooden decking on the floor, a central water feature & large half-circle blue sofas.

This is *the* place where I always meet my friends for some food, caffeine-kicks and a nice time for chatting & people-watching.

The menu is straight forward, and you'll find everything from traditional burgers, delicious thin & crispy pizzas, to Arabic cuisine, to Asian stir-fries & sizzling plates, to innovative salads, children's dishes and nice desserts. And like any Dubai cafe, fruit cocktails are just as much a feature as the coffee.
The portions are relatively large, the serving staff is friendly & relatively quick, and the prices are good as well.

Favorite Dish: The pizzas are thin, crispy and great to share with someone.
The Mediterranean Salad is superb, and it's a main-course-portion as well! I also love the grilled Salmon Steak.
The fajitas come on a sizzling plate, with plenty of crunchy vegetables.

TIP: This is a very popular place: If you don't get a table right away, just wait for 5-10 minutes: people are always coming & going, and usually you'll get a table in no-time!
Opening Hours: Same as the Shopping Mall (10:00am - 10:00pm)

UPDATE January 2008: Please note that smoking has now been banned inside all of Dubai's shopping malls.
