"Important Works at the Musee d'Orsay" Musée d'Orsay Tip by lamentforicarus

Musée d'Orsay, Paris: 275 reviews and 558 photos

The Musee d'Orsay houses a vast collections including Impressionists, Post Impressionists, Art Nouveau, Romanticists, Sculpture, and Naturalists. Lovers of impressionist artwork should head to the upper level and hunt for Van Gogh's 1889 masterpiece: Bedroom at Alres. Also on display are pieces by notable impressionist Claude Monet (his famous works "Cathedral at Rouen" and "Blue Waterlilles" are located on the third floor as well) and Renoir (do not miss "Dancing at the Moulin de la Galette"). Fine sculpture works, such as Edgar Degas' 1881 work, "Young Dancer of Fourteen," are featured on the ground level of the building near the entrance.
