This building was built (well not by himself personally) the 5th Duke of Devonshire who lived at Chatsworth House, in 1784 at a cost of £38,000. It was built with accommodation, shops, card rooms, lounges, restaurants for I would assume 'gentry' who came to take the spa waters for which Buxton became famous.

Address: The Crescent
Directions: Opposite the 'Slopes' park area

Review Helpfulness: 3.5 out of 5 stars
