The restaurant is housed in the Belvédère, a former Walltower called the Hoendertoren. As such there are huge basement cellars used as gun powder rooms. The present name of the tower originates from the wonderful river view. After the Spanish wars the buiding got a more recreative character, first for the towns magistrates, but in the course of time also for the "common" people. In 1678 the building was completely renovated.

The outside terras is a great place to relax with a mighty view over the river.
