SADLY CLOSED I THINK?
I found the Pokoje Go?cinne "W Ogrodach" on the internet and it was the
cheapest room I could find in Krakow close to the train station and the main
square. I stayed in Febuary 2005 just before the 60 Year anniversary of the
death camps liberation. .
Price is 60PLN per room per night for their cheapest room and 100-120 for
the best rooms. The main place is on ul. Radziwiłłowska 12 but they
also have some rooms on Westerplatte. We arrived late my daughter
and I at the station which is a 5 or 10 min with luggage walk from the station
and we got soaked as I was expecting -15 and snow. They double booked
so we got a cellar room on Westerplatte which was a bit damp, spectacular
view of the park opposite, supose OK in the Summer but not a damp
cold night. The room we intended to get we moved to the next day.
Unique Qualities: %
Retains a Polish character and you manage to get
a real feel of the city at close quarters.
Close to everywhere and lots of food shops close-by.
A really nice attic room with an incredible view of the snowy rooftops and
church spires.A shared bathroom clean and modern and a big kitchen.
They had internet in one of the downstairs rooms for free. OK continental
breakfast and mostly Polish tourists which makes you feel that your in Poland.
Travelling is about meeting the locals not hunkered down with hoards of Western backpackers doing the same thing and going to the same places.
OK though if your alone and need company.
Friendly staff and they burnt off my photos onto a CD for a few Zloty.
We payed at the end so great if your outta cash waiting for funds.
