  Me in the tilted room!

We were quite pleasantly surprised with Puzzling World, after a brief visit over lunch to help break up a very long journey on a very rainy day! Upon arrival in the car park, you are greated by such sights as "The Leaning Tower of Wanaka", a backwards clock, started at the turn of the millenium and is now ticking backwards, and the four leaning towers, all balanced at different angles. Inside, this theme is continued, with a hall of holograms; a hall of following faces; a room that's built off the horizontal so it looks like it's been tipped on it's side; and a room that makes you look tall if you stand in one corner and short if you stand in the other - a trick that was used during filming of "Lord of the Rings". Back outside, is the Great Maze - 1.5km of passages to be navigated over two storeys whilst you try to reach all four of the corner towers. Believe me, it's a lot easier said than done!!! If you have kids, then I would definitly recommend this as a stop off, however, it can also be enjoyed by adults. Opening hours are from 8:30am - 5:00pm, daily, and I think entrance was about $10.

Directions: It's located about 2km out of Wanaka, on the road towards Cromwell. It's well signposted, and as you drive past you can't possibly miss it!
