You can see in this musem very interesting examples of the best preserved Viking ships ever found. They had been built around 800 AD and has been found in the chieftains' tumuluses, where they were ment to take their owners to their last voyage after death. The exhibitions displays the rich finds from the chieftains tumuluses as well.

Directions: You can catch a bus (no. 30) from either the Central Station or National-theatret. They run every 15 minutes.

Or you can take a boat (no. 91) to Bygd°y (I strongly recommend this way! :-)
