"Marble Mountain and China Beach" Hoi An Things to Do Tip by fiLination

Hoi An Things to Do: 308 reviews and 619 photos

20km on the way to Danang city is Marble Mountain. The mountain, as the name suggests, is made out of marble and is full of big hidden caves with huge Buddha statues. After climbing the stairs (entrance – 10000dong) follow the locals pointing up to “Heaven” which is the peak of the mountain looking down at the gorgeous famous American-War “China Beach”.

Surrounding the mountain are lots of marble shops where you can shop around for your cheap marble souvenirs. Though I was never very good at it - strong bargaining is suggested, as prices might drop down to 10-30% the original price, so take your time and compare. After you finish admiring the marble statues and shopping around, head 200meters down to China Beach for a cool swim and something to eat.
(Small note – I really don’t like Danang city. In my opinion, there’s nothing there worth enduring this big noisy nothing of a Vietnamese city).
