Royal Palm: "Nice on the Outside, Terrible Rooms" Miami Hotel Tip by ukmagicman

This was one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. When we pulled up in the taxi, we thought wow, what a nice place. Entering the lobby we still had the same impression. But then we got to the room.

The rooms were terrible. For $250 per night is was ridiculous. The furniture was old and the wood stain had come off in many places, the room was small, and it just had a very cheap feel. The room did not even have a clock radio in it.

We got no sleep for the first 2 nights as the walls are so thin and the people next door were partying until 5am. We called the front desk and they did not do anything. Finally after complaining again on the third day, they moved us to another room which was much quieter and we got some sleep. The security employee said all the top floors have the same problem as that is where they put young people.

The location of the hotel is great - on the beach and close to Lincoln road. The hotel is next door to Lowes.

The pool was very disappointing - square and small. Other hotels have far more impressive pools.

We also learned at the end of the stay that there was a $22.60 per person per night resort fee. We had booked on expedia and thought everything had been paid for so this was a surprise. The fee was for 2 "free" bottles of water per day, towels, and usage of chairs around the pool. The fee is mandatory for all that stay.

Unique Qualities: Very close to Lincoln road.
On the beach.
