The main draw of the park is the seemingly endless underground cave system and the variety of tours offered underground. But if you take the time to wander around the park, you'll find some other points of interest. One of these is the sand cave which is located at the north entrance of the park. The cave is infamous due to the would be cave explorer who discovered it and got stuck while attempting to explore it. A massive rescue effort was not successful and the man perished in the cave. A short paved trail leads to the cave. There is little to see here, but it is a nice walk through the forest that practically consumes the above ground portions of the park.
