Mar's Wark is a fine renaissance mansion which was built by the Earl of Mar in 1570. he was the regent for king James VI at the time.
It was never fully completed and was later used as a town workhouse.
Nowadays only the remarkable facade can still be seen.

Directions: Castle Wynd - just down from castle
