  Lamaload Reservoir
by Ben-UK

Favorite thing: Lamaload Reservoir was built in 1964 and supplies drinking water for nearby Macclesfield -- it is the highest reservoir in England.

The surrounding area is ideal for walking and cycling -- the reservoir itself has a picnic area and car park and you'll see lots of wildlife around.

From Macclesfield take the A537 Buxton New Road -- after a couple of miles you will see a left turn for the Goyt Valley and Rainow -- turn left there and the reservoir is on your left after about a mile.
