Lisbon's Coaches Museum is the finest of its kind in the world, with the world's biggest and most valuable collection. It includes magnificent baroque vehicles from the 17th to 19th centuries that once belonged to several European royal families. Housed in a former 18th century riding academy, many include gilded figures and allegorical scenes. Their fairytale appearance fascinate both children and adults, which may explain why it actually is Lisbon's most visited museum.
