Nou Casino La Constancia: "Unusual place, good food." San Felíu de Guixols Restaurant Tip by Belsaita
San Felíu de Guixols Restaurants: 2 reviews and 3 photos
This was a real fortuity finding. During a daytrip to this area, we were looking for a place to have lunch. There is a huge offer in the area, but most of the places have no character. This Moorish-inspired Modernist building attracted our attention (later we learn it is declared historic monument).
We entered it just to have a look inside, and we found it was a bar and restaurant. Real old fashion place, like going back in time, except for the internet corner!
They serve basic local dishes, but more than excellent quality-price ratio! The menu has pics of the dishes, this can help if you don't understand the language, but the place is far from touristy. You can watch the old timers fleecing each other at cards and dominoes at the table next to yours!
Favorite Dish: We had a huge plate of EXCELLENT assorted fried fish (and I'm really picky about fish... being born in a fishers' town, you can figure... ). This plate costed 12 euros and it was enough for 2 people. The service was quite slow, but the place was really busy at the moment. The whole meal, included drinks, was about 20 euros each.
Address: Rambla Portalet, 2
Comparison: less expensive than average
Directions: In the seafront promenade. The building is so characteristic that you cannot miss it!
