This lovely square opposite the castle is surrounded by beautiful 16th-19th-century houses. One of them is called the Fish Market. It was built in 1869 and is crowned with 3 statues. The 1 on top represents Neptune, king of the seas, whereas the other 2 represent the 2 rivers that flow through Gent, the Scheldt and the Leie.
