"Lots and lots of houses (part1)" Rhondda Local Custom Tip by tashski
Rhondda Local Customs: 5 reviews and 4 photos
Not really a tip, but a explanation to the unusual set up of building in the Rhondda. The housing was created purely to house the miners (most built at end of 19th/beginning of 20th century as mines were sunk), who came to valleys for work. By 1911, almost 24,000 people (on average) were crammed into each square mile were houses were built.
