  Castle Gate with the cartouche
by Skeptic-jr

That building was constructed during the erection of the city fortifications; during the reign of King Sigismund III another building was erected in that place. A baroque stone cartouche with an eagle, three Swedish crowns and letters at the both sides, placed over the entrance from the East side, are still the remnants of it. The ground - floor rooms of that two - storied house have barrel vaults with lunettes (from: www.szydlow.pl).
