Rafting, Nepal: 3 reviews and 1 photos

Fondest memory: Karnali River. An 18+ hour overland bus ride which encompassed marvelous landscapes and less than marvelous roadways which led us to our final destination, the Karnali river. This river trip is 180 km long and it's remote! The only two access roads are the one at put in and the one at Chisopani for take out...8 days later. Only a couple hundred tourist make it out to this river per year because of it's relative inaccessibility. It feels like you've walked back in time as fisherman fish from dugout canoes and children run from there mud huts to see us float or paddle by. I asked the head guide what sort of exposure the these kids have to the outside world. He laughed and said 'You ARE the outside world for them!'
