The community of Mary's Servants built this church between 1386 and 1437, with a wide quadriporticus in front of it, supported by thin marble columns. Inside the church is divided into a nave and two aisles, all Gothic, creating a solemn atmosphere. It contains many works of art, like Cimabue's 13th-century Madonna on the Throne, Michelangelo Montorsoli's 1558 marble altarpiece of the high altar, Vitale da Bologna's 14th-century frescoes and paintings of artists from Bologna.
