More a grill than a bbq, nothing fancy, but cheap and tasty. Situated by the giant plane tree in the centre of Lourdata, the grill is downstairs, with a couple of tables, and a couple more across the road (where the locals mainly sat). But the attraction is to sit upstairs, on the open-sided balcony. On one side, views out to sea. On the other, you can watch some village life, as locals come and go, some stopping to eat, others zipping about on motos, others going in to attend to their gardens, or just sit about.

Simple food, grilled or fried, with a range of veggie items, and other things like souvlaki, and Greek salad, of course.

Starter, large Greek salad with feta, 2 mains, bread, and 2 large jugs of wine was only about E16. Individually, Veg pita E1.50, 3 sticks of souvlaki E2.50.

Pitas only in the evening, they only make them in the afternoons. The pitas here (and I noticed this in Kos also) are not the thin, firm breads which are sliced open and filled like in Britain, but softer, thicker, and are wrapped whole round their contents.

Comparison: least expensive
Directions: Middle of the village, on main road to Lourdas beach. About ten minutes (uphill!) from beach.

I dont have a picture of the place, so here are some flowers on the road up from the beach.

Price: less than US$10
Rating: 4
Theme: Barbecue
