Pantokrator Hotel: "Best view in Barbati" Prefecture of Kerkyra (Corfu) Hotel Tip by arv1

Situated on Mount Pantokrator (hey hey), this hotel offers arguably one of the best views in Barbati...how do I know? Other hotels I saw were nowhere near as high!! Which I absolutely loved, but, if you have difficulties in walking uphill (genuine difficulties, laziness doesn't count), then this may not be the place for you. Located around the hotel are many shops (convenience and souvenir), restaurants (authentic greek and other), a bus stop (which is a big plus as they are so rare!!) and a beach which is less than 1 mile away.
I stayed on a Half board basis, and the food was good!! They have a wide variety of food served, different everyday (except the chips!!) and there is also a vegetarian menu, which I appreciated!!
The pool is in a great location, right on the road side so you can see both the beach and the amazing mountain behind the hotel too!! It was sheer bliss sitting there!!
Though service was good and the people were very friendly on a day to day basis, when there was a problem they were unwilling to help. Having found bugs in our allocated room, we decided to upgrade to a different room (it turned out cheaper given the extra price of air conditioning and fridge usage, you should do the same) but we were told an incorrect price. SO when the bill came, we were being charged a different price than agreed...they were fair enough to let us pay the agreed price. We also had problems with the functioning of the cable tv, which was not resolved. This did bother us as we travelled after the terrorist attack on London, so without english channels we had no way to find out what was happening at home.
Definately stay here in a Lux room, as the price would work out the same, and this is what is shown on the website address! The standard rooms are nothing of the sort!
Unique Qualities: Little highlight!! The view in general, but also the amazing view from the pool!! :)
Price Comparison: about average
Directions: Barbati, on the main road
