Jan Hus (1369-1415) was the most important Czech reformer who was excommulgated and burned. The memorial was built in 1915 and Hus is surrounded by the victorious Hussite patriots and Protestants defeated by the Hapsburgs.

The monument is very beautiful and marks the center of Old Town Square.
