The Erasmusbrug was built in 1996 and is the symbol of modern Rotterdam. The architect was Ben van Berkel. You can lift up a part of it to let pass larger ships, but this is very seldom seen. You can admire it from both side, (I love to see it from the Boompjes) and it is illuminated at night. Cross it and you will get a nice view on both parts of Rotterdam, on old and new harbours as well as on the Willemsburg, the second large bridge in Rotterdam.

Directions: Follow Coolsingel and Schiedamsedijk to the Nieuwe Maas. I am sure you will not miss it.
