One of the beautiful King William District houses
by Jefie

Built by German settlers at the end of the 19th century, this lovely neighborhood is well known for its magnificient Victorian architecture. Most houses are privately owned but there is one, Steves Homestead, that is open to the public. Our tour guide was a little weird and would not answer any of our questions during the tour lest it should make her forget her script(!), but it was a nice visit nevertheless. At the end of the tour, we were given a brochure that included a self-guided walking tour of the neighborhood, complete with a map and information about the architectural style of each house.
