  Holy Trinity Church
by no1birdlady

William Shakespeare and his wife Anne are buried in Holy Trinity Church in Stratford upon the Avon River. At the front of the church is a lovely altar and sets of stained glass windows. Shakespeare was baptised in the font here. There are also copies of the entries of both his baptism and burial. A bust of Shakespeare is in the wall on the left side. It was set up within 7 years of his death. It overlooks the grave which is a marble slab in the floor of the church. The priviledge of being buried here was bestowed on him as a lay rector which he became in 1605.
